As Christians, we go to the holy scriptures every week because it is there that we see the person and the work of Jesus most clearly revealed. Feel free to listen, whether your not a member listening out of curiosity, or a member catching up on missed sermons. As you listen, our hope is that you are encouraged and challenged in the truths of who God is, what he’s done for us, and how he’s called us to live!
Our philosophy of ministry is certainly not new or novel. Many faithful churches of ages past and faithful practitioners in the present have written great content that has heavily influenced us. Below is a list of books that have in some way helped shape and inform our philosophy of ministry as we seek to be faithful, missional, and contextualized neighborhood churches:
Total Church by Steve Timmis and Tim Chester
The Celtic Way of Evangelism by George G. Hunter
Among Wolves by Dhati Lewis
A Meal with Jesus by Tim Chester
Saturate by Jeff Vanderstelt
As a church plant, we long to live out what many call “missional community”. This is why the foundation of all ministry that is done by our church is done through our neighborhood parishes, which are essentially missional communities. We long to see a church made up of fellow East Enders from all walks of life, and our hope is to see a church planting, disciple-making movement spark in the East of Houston so that everyone would be exposed to this precious gospel of grace that has been entrusted to us from ages past.
The vision video below helps explain and paint a picture of this vision for our church:
